The RECOLAND Project has been instrumental in furthering high-level bilateral cooperation between China and The Netherlands. In this endeavor, it builds further on the foundation build by earlier projects.

In a letter of Vice Minister Hu Cunzhi to Minister Schultz-van Haagen, the PI of the RECOLAND Project was entrusted with the drafting and coordination of the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding on Spatial Planning and Titling, signed by the competent Ministers in 2015.
